{"id":619,"date":"2010-01-07T07:30:44","date_gmt":"2010-01-07T13:30:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/blog\/?p=619"},"modified":"2010-02-05T22:02:15","modified_gmt":"2010-02-06T04:02:15","slug":"kerfuffle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/blog\/?p=619","title":{"rendered":"Kerfuffle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Does anybody else ever notice this:\u00a0 you&#8217;ve never heard or seen something before, but if you encounter it once, all of a sudden, you see it everywhere?<\/p>\n<p>Up until yesterday, I had never before seen or heard the word &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.merriam-webster.com\/dictionary\/kerfuffle\">kerfuffle<\/a>,&#8221; but I was reading <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/style\/features\/2009\/12\/seymour-200912\">an article<\/a>* in last month&#8217;s VF last night and encountered it for the first time.\u00a0 It was literally one of the last words that I read before drifting off, which may be why (in addition to its almost onomatopoetic nature) it stuck with me.\u00a0 So, this morning, I opened up my Google Reader to catch up with Serious Eats and came across <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seriouseats.com\/2010\/01\/booze-and-burgers-camper-english-san-francisco-chronicle-debate-is-customer-always-right.html\">this article<\/a>, again invoking this strange, new (to me) word.<\/p>\n<p>So, if you&#8217;re keeping track, that&#8217;s not a single time in 40 (almost 41) years, and then twice in 8 hours.\u00a0 Weird.<\/p>\n<p>* This article is just elevated National Enquirer-style trash, but it&#8217;s worth reading just so that you can be properly horrified by <a href=\"http:\/\/inlog.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Maurizio-Cattelan-Trophy-Wife-Stephanie-Seymour.jpg\">this<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Does anybody else ever notice this:\u00a0 you&#8217;ve never heard or seen something before, but if you encounter it once, all of a sudden, you see it everywhere?
