This is always a big hit, especially with Boy and Girl.  Tonight, I did a variation of leftover night:  &#8220;Stuff-Your-Own-Pita Night&#8221;.  I made some meatballs (spiced with cumin, cinnamon and a bit of cayenne, with some garlic, finely chopped red onion and cottage cheese mixed in) and tzatziki and grilled some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/2008\/04\/salad_topped_with_grilled_hall.html\">halloumi<\/a> and then pulled out everything else that we had around and let the family dig in.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_4968.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/IMG_4968.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"201\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The options were (from top left, going clockwise):<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/2008\/06\/israeli_couscous_salad_with_su.html\">Israeli Couscous salad<\/a>, diced zucchini and yellow squash (leftover from making the salad), baby carrots, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/2008\/06\/grilled_romaine_salad_with_but.html\">Parisian carrots<\/a>, fresh romaine, pitas, diced bell pepper (also leftover from making the salad), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/2008\/06\/grilled_romaine_salad_with_but.html\">leftover grilled romaine<\/a>, grilled halloumi, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/2008\/06\/grilled_romaine_salad_with_but.html\">leftover grilled chicken<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/2008\/06\/grilled_romaine_salad_with_but.html\">leftover Buttermilk-Chive dressing<\/a>, &#8220;Cherub&#8221; tomatoes, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/2007\/03\/falafel_pita_bread_sandwiches.html\">tzatziki<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/2008\/06\/grilled_romaine_salad_with_but.html\">leftover grilled onion<\/a>, spiced beef meatballs.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how I chose, for my dinner:<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_4969.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/IMG_4969.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"275\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Yummy!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Occasionally, when I&#8217;ve been cooking a lot and we have a large variety of leftovers around the house, I&#8217;ll pull everything out of the fridge and set it on our kitchen island, put out plates and let everyone choose what things they want.
