{"id":188,"date":"2007-10-16T18:15:24","date_gmt":"2007-10-16T18:15:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/blog\/?p=188"},"modified":"2007-10-16T18:15:24","modified_gmt":"2007-10-16T18:15:24","slug":"polenta-tamale-pie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/blog\/?p=188","title":{"rendered":"Polenta Tamale Pie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_3661-1.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/IMG_3661-1.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"215\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I have to admit that I wasn&#8217;t expecting much when I first saw <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epicurious.com\/recipes\/food\/views\/102202\">this recipe<\/a>:  I thought it would be kid-friendly and easy, but wasn&#8217;t expecting it to be terribly tasty or sophisticated.  I must say, I was pleasantly surprised.  The funny thing is that this ACTUALLY TASTED a bit like tamales.  It was sort of an upscale version of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/2007\/01\/texas_chili_and_frito_pie.html\">Frito Pie<\/a>, but much better and it was ridiculously easy to whip up.<\/p>\n<p>We served it with the leftover <a href=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/2007\/10\/chicken_lasagna_florentine_gre_1.html\">green beans from last night<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This was a big hit with all four of us.
