{"id":183,"date":"2007-10-10T19:27:44","date_gmt":"2007-10-10T19:27:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/blog\/?p=183"},"modified":"2007-10-10T19:27:44","modified_gmt":"2007-10-10T19:27:44","slug":"texas-trash-snack-mix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/blog\/?p=183","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Texas Trash&#8221; Snack Mix"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"IMG_3650-1.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/IMG_3650-1.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"180\" \/><\/p>\n<p>10 cups of cereal, your choice of type and amounts<br \/>\n(I usually use a blend of Cracklin&#8217; Oat Bran, Cheerios, Golden Graham and Chex:  Wheat, Rice and\/or Corn)<br \/>\n2 cups small (bite-sized) pretzels<br \/>\n1  10-oz can of your favorite nuts (peanuts, cashews, mixed &#8211; whatever you like)<br \/>\n1\/2 cup canola oil<br \/>\n1 stick (1\/2 cup) butter, melted<br \/>\n1 tsp. Tabasco<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp. red cayenne pepper<br \/>\n1 tsp. garlic salt<br \/>\n1 tsp. onion salt<br \/>\n1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce<\/p>\n<p>Preheat oven to 200 degrees.  Combine cereals, nuts and pretzels in a LARGE bowl &#8211; set aside.  Combine oil, butter and remaining ingredients.  Pour over cereal mixture and mix gently to coat evenly.  Pour onto cookie sheets and spread out to space pieces out.  Bake for 2 hours, stirring and turning every 15 minutes.
