{"id":1161,"date":"2010-04-21T22:30:35","date_gmt":"2010-04-22T04:30:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/blog\/?p=1161"},"modified":"2010-04-21T22:30:35","modified_gmt":"2010-04-22T04:30:35","slug":"pear-gorgonzola-caramelized-onion-toasted-pecan-balsamic-arugula-pizza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/blog\/?p=1161","title":{"rendered":"Pear-Gorgonzola-Caramelized Onion-Toasted Pecan-Balsamic Arugula Pizza"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/IMG_0957.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1163\" title=\"IMG_0957\" src=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/IMG_0957.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"344\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/IMG_0957.jpg\"><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/IMG_0963.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1164\" title=\"IMG_0963\" src=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/IMG_0963.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"343\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/IMG_0963.jpg\"><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/IMG_0965.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1165\" title=\"IMG_0965\" src=\"http:\/\/www.feedyourkids.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/IMG_0965.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"342\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This was fantastic and came together much more quickly than I expected after a CRAZY night.\u00a0 It was inspired by <a href=\"http:\/\/find.myrecipes.com\/recipes\/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&amp;recipe_id=1963974\">this recipe<\/a> in Cooking Light magazine, but I adapted it quite a bit to suit Vegetarian Girl and a preference for blue cheese over provolone.<\/p>\n<p>1 large pre-baked pizza shell (I used Boboli)<\/p>\n<p>1 small white onion, thinly sliced<\/p>\n<p>1 Tbsp unsalted butter<\/p>\n<p>1 Tbsp olive oil<\/p>\n<p>1 large, ripe pear, thinly sliced<\/p>\n<p>1\/3 cup crumbled blue cheese (I used Gorgonzola)<\/p>\n<p>1\/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans, toasted<\/p>\n<p>4 cups baby arugula leaves<\/p>\n<p>about 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar<br \/>\nPreheat oven to 450 degrees.<\/p>\n<p>Melt butter with olive oil in a medium-sized frying pan over medium heat.\u00a0 Add onion and cook, stirring frequently, for 10-15 minutes or until the onion is soft and lightly browned all over.\u00a0 Spread onions evenly over pizza crust.<\/p>\n<p>Sprinkle cheese evenly over onions, then top with pear slices.<\/p>\n<p>Bake pizza for 10 &#8211;
