Just about my favorite snack/appetizer in the whole world...
I'm the only one in the family that will eat them and I am perfectly OK with that, because it means that I don't have to share.

Is maytag a brand, or a type of Blue Cheese?

It is a brand name of blue cheese. It's handmade, in America, and is a little spicier than other kinds of blue cheese. It is owned by the same family that owns the Maytag Appliance company.
